Following the completion of legal studies at Zagreb Law School and 2-year Course in Information Science at the School of Arts and Humanities within the same University, Albina finally decided to continue with her practice as a lawyer. She is registered as an attorney at law with constant interaction with various aspects of technical fields in her everyday work. She runs a small IP law firm primarily providing highly specialized legal services. In 2012 the Croatian Bar Association acknowledged her specialization in Intellectual Property.
Albina is also registered as an professional attorney before the Croatian SIPO, EPO and OHIM. She has also been appointed an arbiter (panellist) for Internet domain names disputes within .hr domain. She holds a postgraduate Diploma Course in EU, UK and US Copyright law from the King’s College University London.
During the process of negotiation and Croatian accession to the EU (2006-2007) Albina was appointed member of Croatian Expert Group for Chapter 7 – Intellectual Property and participated in preparation of screening lists for EU Commission (software and database protection; enforcement) and was appointed as presenter before EU Commission during the screening procedure for the sub-chapter “Software and Database Protection”. Also she was appointed as a delegate of the representatives in the field of IP, for a meeting with the experts from EU Member States on a peer assessment in view of the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the EU (presented an overview of the Croatian national intellectual property system and its functioning, including inter-institutional cooperation and the judicial system).
